Daystar is Tory Lanez’s most recent album featuring 17 tracks with one feature Yoko Gold positioning his stance on the incident with Megan Thee Stallion.
Throughout the entire project he is consistent on his position on his case and frequently mentions God Got Me. On “Daystar” we will hear about money, fame, people changing, his case with Megan Thee Stallion, Faith and social media.
Tory Lanez releases “Daystar” and he begins the album with all negative comments from the media. On the first single, “Money Over Fallouts” he talks about getting bailed out of jail and Megan’s team attempt to frame him. Tory Lanez talks about people trying to ruin him and losing 10 million dollars. He really pleads his side of the story on the opening track.
“A Woman” sounds like a true heartbreak song and after hearing this record it makes me wonder just how close was Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion before this incident? Also, if he loved Megan Thee Stallion so much why would he shoot her? This album definitely brings up a lot of questions. Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez have two completely different stances on this situation and since no one was there we only have whatever the two artists shares with their fans.
“My heart is cold.” – Tory Lanez
On this record, we see the emotional side of Tory Lanez.
“You can come home, come home I’ll welcome you in with open arms, you can always come back.”
I like the fact we didn’t have to guess about whether or not Tory Lanez was referring to the situation with Megan Thee Stallion. Based on songs like “Friends Become Strangers” I feel like their relationship is a lot deeper than anyone else on the outside world could know. He talks about how they both lost their mothers.
Megan Thee Stallion tried to protect Tory Lanez even though she felt like he was the one who shot her which also adds to the question how long were they together? How deep was their love for each other?
“Sorry But I Had To” is one song that got to several people. Tory Lanez addressed many situations of artists who had something to say about his situation. In this song you will hear lyrics regarding Asian Doll, Jojo, JR Smith, DreamDoll, are just a few to name.
On “What’s Kulture ??” He starts off with the lost of Chadwick Boseman from Black Panther and as the song continues he talks about the importance of black women in his life including both family and career.
“I refuse to be the poster boy for black women unprotected.”
He mentions Kehlani and his concern about her choice to go to Twitter instead of reaching out to Tory Lanez on “Bittersweet.”
“Care For You” is extremely deep.
“We need God urgently.”
“Lately I been minding my business, trying to get back at you.”
“Tests that bring you faith when its unclear what the fate is.”
“Sorry for the times my attitude mixed with the status too.”
These lines really stood out. Besides the obvious, he talks about investment, racism, culture, uplifting black women, community and more.
Many people say they don’t like the fact Tory Lanez made a project about the incident with Megan Thee Stallion.
Let me know your thoughts on the situation.
