Fabolous – Summertime Shootout 3: Coldest Summer Ever

Fabolous released the “Summertime Shootout 3: Coldest Summer Ever” on Black Friday and included several bangers to end 2019. Fabolous is one of the rare artists that can continuously make hits regardless of musical breaks.

The Summertime Shootout series began in November 2015 and Fabolous continues to provide irresistible songs in the cold months for his fans to enjoy during the holiday season.

As usual, Fabolous provides undeniable lyrics that make for perfect instagram captions. On the single, “Seasons Change” featuring Tory Lanez, Fabolous raps, “Got me in my feelings, like Shiggy in the Summer.”

One aspect of this Summertime Shootout 3 mixtape that stands out to me are the samples used on the records. Fabolous seamlessly combines the old school vibes with the modern voices of the Hip Hop game.

The artists featured on Summertime Shootout 3 include several top artists in the music industry such as Chris Brown, Meek Mill, A-Boogie, Ty Dolla $ign, Tory Lanez, Lil Durk, Roddy Ricch, PnB Rock, Davido, Jeremih and more. Only a veteran in the Hip Hop game such as Fabolous would be able to work this wide range of music artists.

“Thought I had you but I had to learn, I ain’t have you, I just had my turn.”

The songs on this project cover every occasion including club nights, romantic vibes and unforgettable times.

The reason I love listening to Fabolous’s music is because of the song concepts. His songs have a meaning and also have catchy lyrics embedded in the songs.

On the single, “Gone for the Summer,” Fabolous raps,

“Lets keep it 100, even Benjamin got a big head, Money changes small faces into big heads.”

Frenemies is a relatable song as most people have experienced friend betrayal.

One of my favorite songs on the project is titled, “Cold Summer” which also happens to be the first song on the project. The build up is perfect and the vibe defines New York.

Who is YNW Melly ?

YNW Melly recently released a mixtape, “We All Shine” and a music video featuring one of Hip Hop’s most hated Kanye West for his single, “Mixed Personalities.” YNW Melly is a 19 year old music artist from Florida.

In 2018 he released the popular single, “Murder On My Mind” and he was recently arrested in Florida for marijuana possession.

So on the above video Kanye West’s voice is amazing but now that his talented is coming back I’m hoping his common sense can catch up to. This is the first song I ever heard where both artists sound close enough you have to ask who’s voice am I hearing now.

The video is odd with the robots and all but nonetheless unique.

Check out the above music video and mixtape!

Spice Recently Held her “Captured” Mixtape Release Party This Week

Spice is a dancehall music artist and a cast member on the popular television show Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. Her mixtape release party was held this week in New York. “Captured” features 19 dancehall records.

The mixtape has a large variation of beats that will make you want to dance on the dance floor such as “Mahma Man” and “Body Right.”

When you listen to this mixtape you can tell a lot of energy went into her project. “Captured” takes me back to the 90’s when Beenie Man was heavy on the scene.

What I like the most about this mixtape are the themes in the songs. Some songs are about fake people, freaky situations and even racism. Regardless of the topic, the beat will have you grooving.

I can guarantee if you like reggae music, “Captured” is the mixtape for you.

Other music artists such as Kappa (@kappaksm) and luxury service and promotions provider Daniel Jean (@danieljean56) were also in attendance at the event.

“Queens gets the money while us Brooklyn n*ggas taking it, Harlem keep on making it, they got all the latest sh*t, soon or later yall gon start to say that I’m your favorite.”

“Uber Everywhere” is a song by MadeinTyo that has been remixed several times throughout the year by mainstream artists. Although, the song is titled Uber Everywhere A1 disses Uber and talks about his preference of using Lyft. He raps about his many uses for a lyft especially when it relates to women.

On “X O Tour Life” A1 changed his sound a bit but still adds some positivity while discussing negative circumstances. He raps, “Feel defeated but still im gonna try, pick up all the pieces then grind, got some friends that’s dead, some them in jail holding on a cell.”

Chico Suave, Yonkers Native recently released a mixtape called “Born To Be Hated.” The mixtape features 12 bangers each with a specific message. Some singles such as the “Intro” and “Who Would’ve Thought” provides a clear picture of what he has experienced that led to the strong felt lyrics on the tracks.

Cardi B – “Gangsta Bxtch Music Vol 2”

Cardi B goes hard with her new mixtape, “Gangsta B*tch Music Vol 2.” She’s not holding back and all her lyrics are blunt and real. She raps about her label offers that she refuses because the money isn’t right and those talking about her. She raps, “Don’t waste my time, I’m not your average bxtch” on Bronx Season. This was a great first song.

Her mixtape is all about confidence, no filter lyrics and boss movements. Her mixtape has 12 tracks and represents that New York sound right. She even has a song called, “Back It Up” which is a reggae type single featuring Konshens and Hood Celebrityy.

If you’re looking for motivation try listening to “Never Give Up.” One of my favorite tracks is “Pop Off” but check out the full mixtape above and let me know what you think.

Trey Songz – Anticipation 3 Mixtape

Trey Songz released his new mixtape, “Anticipation III” featuring MikexAngel last week giving his fans what they’ve been waiting for. The 11 track mixtape is filled with love songs continuing the pattern with his previous Anticipation mixtapes. One of my favorite tracks is “I Got The Time.”

This mixtape is a definite mood setter and just in time for the love season, Valentine’s Day. Check out the full mixtape above!

Tory Lanez – Chixtape 4 Mixtape

I love this mixtape almost every song is my favorite. Tory Lanez cleverly remixed several hit songs back in the day and made them relevant again. Some familiar songs are What’s Luv (Fat Joe), I Need A Girl (Puff Daddy), 1 Call (Chingy) and Slow Grind (Pretty Ricky). He brought his romantic and comical lyrics to this project. On What’s Luv he raps,

“Buss it all open like you got a slow leak
I’ve been in the streets with three or four freaks
She is so bad might need a police
Stomach on flat, ass obese
Walk oh how the fuck you got in those jeans
I just wanna touch ya, fuck ya OD
Know you got a man but this is lowkey.”

I’m impressed he did a great job with the mixtape. Share if you like the mixtape!
