Solange Knowles released two music videos, “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair.” Both videos are unique in content and structure.
In “Cranes in the Sky” the introduction is grasping because Solange is dressed in various “cloths” swiftly placed in different locations. To begin with your drawn in because your curious in the direction of the video and then the lyrics seal you in. She sings about a pain and creates the comparison to “…it’s like cranes in the sky, Sometimes I don’t wanna feel those metal clouds.”
One of the amazing parts about “Don’t Touch My Hair” is Solange’s ability to sing in a rare tempo. She really showcases her vocals and demonstrates her creativity through her dance moves. She even protrays a well needed attitude during the chorus. The content is excellent because most women regardless of race has a problem with others touching their hair. The best part is she compares hair to emotions.
